Mandate and Housing Commission

Under the direct supervision of the Housing Administrator, the role of this department is as follows:

  • Maintain housing and demographic statistics.
  • Provide appropriate documents for housing needs and requirements
  • Establish, monitor and implement collection of all current and delinquent rents
  • Maintain administrative services as provided for the the Cree First Nation of and Waswanipi and CMHC programs

Housing Commission

The Housing Commission help identify and plan for housing and infrastructure projects for the Cree First Nation of Waswanipi. It determines housing needs of the Cree First Nation of Waswanipi, and assists in developing annual long term housing programs/projects. The members of this committee are as follows:

Under the direct supervison of the Housing Maintenance Manager, the full-time employees work in the Housing maintenance. They establish and implement a preventive and regular maintenance service for the Band and CMHC units.
